COPE pending CE: A 2-hour course by the Scleral Lens Education Society, made possible by an unrestricted educational grant from AccuLens will provide a comprehensive discussion of fitting and evaluation of scleral contact lenses. After starting with a basic description of the various lenses/designs and overall fitting philosophy the course progresses through every step of the fitting process, advanced problem-solving and fitting scleral contact lenses for challenging corneal conditions.
The CE course includes: patient selection, pre-fitting diagnostic evaluation of the patient, specialized testing, initial diagnostic lens selection and evaluation, lens ordering, follow-up care, modification of the fit, problem-solving, specific care and handling of lenses and in-office management tips.
The course is appropriate for those who have little to no experience with scleral lens fitting but, for those who have scleral experience, will also cover more advanced tips for solving the complex fitting challenges that sclerals can present.

Optional Workshop non-CE: Immediately following the CE lecture, attendees have the option of registering for a product-specific, hands-on scleral lens workshop hosted by AccuLens. The Scleral Academy is appropriate for those who have little to no experience with scleral lens fitting as well as those with scleral experience. Advanced tips forthe more complex fitting challenges will be discussed.
This event is unique and comprised of both lecture and a hands on workshop with REAL patients, delivering the ultimate learning experience. The Scleral Academy's are hosted in leading University settings and clinics. Attendees will gain an understanding of both the Maxim Scleral Lens for irregular corneas as well as the EasyFit Lifestyle Lens for the healthy eye. The workshop will provide heightened fitting skills and confidence, insertion and removal techniques, slit lamp evaluation skills, as well as practice management tips.
