Join the Scleral Lens Education Society for a 2-hour COPE 58921-CL course, which includes a comprehensive discussion of fitting and evaluation of scleral contact lenses. The course will include patient selection, pre-fitting diagnostic evaluation of the patient, specialty testing, initial diagnostic lens selection and evaluation, lens ordering, follow-up care, modification of the fit, problem-solving, specific care and handling of the lenses, and in-office management tips.Immediately following the COPE-58921-CL lecture, attendees have the option of attending a product-specific, non-COPE scleral contact lens workshop hosted by B+L Specialty Vision Products.
Goals and Objectives
- To prepare novice fitters to initiate fitting their patients with scleral lenses.
- To present special techniques/modifications that may be helpful in solving complex fitting challenges scleral lens wearers may experience.
- To provide practitioners with detailed description of every step involved in fitting and caring for patients wearing scleral lenses including: patient selection, pre-fitting diagnostic evaluation of the patient, specialized testing, initial diagnostic lens selection and evaluation, lens ordering, follow-up care, modification of the fit, problem-solving, specific care and handling of lenses and in-office management tips.
