Optometrists, ophthalmologists, and Fellows of the Contact Lens Society of America (FCLSA) who have proven themselves in the field of scleral lens fitting can apply for status as a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society entitling them to be listed on the SLS website as a Scleral Lens Specialist, which is accessible to the public.
How to Become a Fellow
In order to start the process for fellowship, candidates must complete the following steps.
- Sign up online as a member of the SLS and keep all profile information up to date.
- Notify Fellowship Chair at

of intent to pursue Fellowship
- Pay the $100 application fee to PayPal: paypal.me/scleralsociety . After submitting payment, please provide proof of application fee payment to the fellowship chair via email at
fe********@sc*********.org
- Once the fellowship committee receives payment for your application, you’ll be sent an email to set up an account as an “Author” on the Editorial Manager online submission system to submit the required fellowship documents (Click here for the SLS submission site).
- There is a 3-year maximum window to complete the Fellowship process, beginning from the date of the application fee payment.
